DVD ENTERTAINMENT GROUP ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS

Warner Home Video's Nickerson to Lead Industry Association in Continuing Awareness and Growth of DVD Format

Buena Vista's Koch and Columbia TriStar's Forster Also Join Board, Dreamworks' Friedman Named VP/Secretary

LOS ANGELES - June 20, 2000 - The DVD Entertainment Group, the industry association representing the major studios, record labels and consumer electronics companies banded together to promote the versatile format of DVD, announced the election of its new president, Stephen Nickerson, vice president, worldwide DVD marketing, Warner Home Video. Mr. Nickerson replaces Paul Culberg who served as the group's president and recently vacated his position as executive vice president, wordwide, Columbia TriStar Home Video to join Nuon/VM Labs as chief operating officer.

Also elected at the DEG's recent board meeting held in New York were Mitchell Koch, general manager, Buena Vista Home Entertainment and Marshall Forster, senior vice president, sales, Columbia TriStar Home Video. With the addition of Mr. Koch, all the major movie studios are represented on the DEG board. (A complete list of the board is attached.)

Mr. Nickerson has been an integral part of the DEG since the inception of the format, now holding a unique viewpoint of both the hardware and software companies after leading the launch of DVD-Video players for Toshiba America.

"His vast understanding of the industry, from both the hardware and software perspectives, are invaluable assets to the group, while his worldwide vantage point help us see the bright future this format has ahead, domestically and beyond."

With Mr. Nickerson's previous position as secretary then left vacant, DreamWorks Home Entertainment's Sanford Friedman has been elected vice president/secretary.

The DVD Entertainment Group is a Los Angeles-based, industry-funded nonprofit corporation that exists expressly to promote consumer awareness of the benefits of DVD-Video and DVD-Audio, and to provide updated information to the media and the retail trade about DVD players, movies and music videos. As part of the group's new charter, it will also look to incorporate some future applications for the DVD format such as interactive games.
